CNY Adaptive Sports Hosts Wheelchair Basketball at the New York State Fair

On Labor Day 2025, the New York State Fairgrounds came alive with the sound of basketballs echoing across the midway as CNY Adaptive Sports hosted a Learn to Play Wheelchair Basketball event.

Players of all ages jumped right into the game, maneuvering chairs across the blacktop and battling for rebounds alongside members of CNY Adaptive Sports and the CNY Flyers sled hockey team. The action was nonstop—quick passes, fast breaks, and plenty of friendly competition drew a crowd of fairgoers who cheered every basket.

Wegmans was an official sponsor of the event, donating food for the athletes and helping fuel the day’s games.

The event gave everyone a chance to experience the excitement and intensity of adaptive basketball, bringing the community together in a celebration of athleticism and inclusion.
