
Bob Balk
Defense
Six-time Paralympian and Paralympic medalist. Bob has competed in four winter games (cross country skiing)(1994,98,2002,2006) and two summer games (athletics)(1996,2000). He has been a member of the national team for USACK, Canoe/Kayak (2010-14) where he competed and medaled at the World Championship level, and more recently USABS, Para Bobsled where he recently repeated his success as National Champion and finished 4th overall in the World Cup 2023. He has also been involved recreationally with Sled Hockey (2013-Present), and Wheelchair basketball (1990-Current).
He is also on the Board of Advisors of the Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University. The Burton Blatt Institute reaches around the globe in its efforts to advance the civic, economic, and social participation of people with disabilities. He also serves as a mentor at the McGovern Center for Life Sciences at Cornell University.
Bob is the proud father of three children: Robert, Jack, and Bebe. Recently he has taken a position as Varsity throws Coach at Moravia High School where he works directly with Jack and Bebe.
